Personality: April enjoys a good laugh, and often tries to get it out of people. She approaches any predicament with her trademark wry humour, often commentating dryly and sarcastically on herself, the others around her, and even on danger if it approaches. This might have gotten her into trouble a few times, as she often baits and insults people who could harm her. But still, throughout everything, she usually manages to retain her good mood – being both cheerful and friendly, the girl loves to hear stories and tales from other people. She is not beyond becoming irritated or frustrated when necessary, however. Most of all, she hates people being cryptic and leaving her in the dark – she prefers being honest, blunt, and straight-to-the-point. When left to her own devices, she often speaks out loud, keeping a running commentary to herself, perhaps disliking the sound of silence. She's not beyond referring to herself in the third-person, either.
History: Escaping from an oppressive family and a near-abusive father, April ran away from home when she turned 18, and moved to the 'little town' of Venice, nestled within the metropolitan city of Newport. She enrolled in the Venice Academy of Visual Arts (VAVA), following through on a dream she had nursed for ages. Over time, she managed to carve out a niche for herself, with her friends, her job, her paintings … But a year after moving to Venice, strange dreams of a fantastical land began to plague her sleep. She was approached by a homeless man named Cortez, who explained that not only were the dreams real, they were of a land named Arcadia which required her help.
Initially incredulous of this, April over time began to believe what was happening to her, meeting with Cortez repeatedly in order to understand more of Arcadia. Her own world was apparently named Stark, and with its technology, served as the other half to its split world counterpart, Arcadia. The Balance between these two was in terrible danger, as the Guardian of the Balance had been kidnapped and his successor gone missing years ago. As a Shifter – one with the rare ability to travel between the two worlds – April was destined to be the one to help them, as much as she dreaded it.
A long story short, she managed to come to terms with her own destiny, and restore the Balance by rescuing the old Guardian and restoring the sanity of the successor. After her adventures, however, April herself was trapped in Arcadia, unable to return to her own home.
Appearance: April has a very pale, angular face and thin features, mottled with freckles. Despite this, she also sports a bright, lively expression most of the time, lips often found quirked into a smile. Chin-length black hair frames her face, and blue eyes complete her appearance. She's rather tall, but also of a completely natural weight – no anorexic supermodel looks for this girl.
