Brief history: Glenda grew up in an incredibly typical English family (with a little bit of German somewhere in the ancestry, but who's counting?), the only daughter of a radio host named Christopher and a woman named Yolanda who runs the bookshop below the family's apartment. Her father broadcasts news with the local Worcestershire branch of the BBC, and her mother… well… sells books.
The news that Glenda was actually a witch hit the family like a tasteless yet elaborate joke. But after repeated owls, and exchanging correspondence with the headmaster, they finally accepted that this just might explain Glenda's odd behaviour over the past few years. Yolanda made a few puns about Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz, but come her eleventh birthday, they grudgingly let her go to Hogwarts.
Glenda took easily to the school, being loud and inquisitive and nosy, she wanted to know Everything. The Hat put her into Ravenclaw - her thirst for knowledge, however, means that the girl has absolutely no sense of tact and will gladly and unabashedly ask anyone anything.
Thoughts on Voldemort: Having just entered the magical world, she's still overwhelmed by the thought of Voldemort and, frankly, doesn't quite understand the issue at hand.
Thoughts on blood purity: Glenda's Muggleborn. Any implication that this makes her anything less than worthy? She'll shout at you. The pureblood ideals are completely alien to her.
