FULL NAME Ignatius Gareth Weasley
NAME MEANINGS
( IGNATIUS ) From Latin ignis "fire". This was the name of several saints, including the third bishop of Antioch who was thrown to wild beasts by emperor Trajan.
( GARETH ) Meaning unknown, probably of Welsh origin. In later Arthurian legends Gareth was a knight of the Round Table, the brother of Sir Gawain.
( WEASLEY ) Like a weasel?
NICKNAMES Iggy and Nat if you stretch it. Mostly Ignatius. Sometimes his little brothers call him "mum".
AGE Thirty-three.
BIRTHDATE something something 1908.
BIRTHPLACE Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England.
BLOODLINE Pure, as far as he can tell. Not that he cares.
FINANCE The Weasleys aren't well-off by any stretch of the imagination, and as much as Ignatius had been hoping his promotions would help out the family… well, Ministry pay isn't the greatest.

FIRST IMPRESSION "Who does he think he is, my dad?"
PERSONALITY William and Doreen's first child, Ignatius Gareth, was named after fire and an Arthurian Knight, respectively. Clearly the parents had great expectations for their first son — he would be strong, dominant, and perhaps he'd even inherit the red hair that skipped randomly around the Weasley family tree. And he did. Well… sort of. In the right light, his hair is fiery, and when around his family, Ignatius is stubborn and headstrong, never saying no and always putting his foot down. In the absence of their father, he played pseudo-patriarch to his brothers, making sure they were fed, clothed, and stayed out of that puddle of mud behind the house. As Ignatius got older, he started to heave sighs of disappointment whenever another boy was born. Would one girl, one touch of sanity and estrogen, be too much to ask for? But he resigned himself to the Weasleys, and resigned himself to taking care of them.
Ignatius is the natural Hufflepuff when it comes to his siblings — loyal, steadfast, and caring. But somehow he ended up in Ravenclaw, and when the Weasley eldest started attending Hogwarts, everyone realised why. He practically devoured his schoolbooks, turning the second-hand pages even more weathered and dog-eared. He took notes like a man possessed. He became enamoured with Muggle history and tried to absorb as much of it as he could, clearly getting stellar grades in Muggle Studies. Considering the fact that the Great War erupted when he was seven, Ignatius felt wizardingkind were obligated to learn about this increasingly-turbulent world in which they lived. He believes purebloods can't survive by forgetting Muggles exist, and the emergence of World War II has only cemented this view.
This Weasley has a tendency to become a bit too fretful and motherly when it comes to his siblings, trying his very hardest to keep them in line and not offending all too many women. He himself is quiet and shy when amongst strangers, however — until you get him talking politics, history, the world, or music. Then he becomes animated, prone to forgetting his natural awkwardness and instead plunging into engaging conversations. He's really quite abashed around women, too. He gets nervous and distracted extremely easily, and despite his raging passion for academics, his workplace is constantly a mess. But believe me when there's some sort of bizarre organisation going on in there; he's always capable of finding the right papers or forms when necessary.
QUIRKS/HABITS Plays the piano. Wishes he could attend more concerts. Adores music. Likes horrible ties.

PAST RELATIONSHIPS As quiet and unassuming as Ignatius is, he's more than capable of turning into a flirt when he's not distracted by work, his family, or some sort of impending danger. You can't live with Randy and Liam without picking up a few tricks. In the right moments, mssr Weasley has a benign sort of charm. He's had his share of girlfriends over the years, the most stable being a three-year long relationship with a Muggleborn witch a few years back. It perished due to unreconcilable differences. He'll never admit that it's simply because she got bored with him.
