"Purebloodedry > everything else.'"
In all seriousness, Inlimis is just that. It's our slightly dark playground.
It's not that we hate the Marauders or Trio or 'good' characters (in fact, both Mods have a deep and abiding case of Prewett!love-from-afar) but Inlimis has le petite mort we've been looking for and not finding in games not focused on the power plays and displays, not to mention deeper workings, of the Pureblood houses.
If all the world's a stage, then it has most definitely been set and the opening act is beginning.
The new generation of Purebloods is rising whilst their parents fall back into the shadows, their actions no longer dominating wizarding life. Voldemort, the Dark Lord, has a hold on them quite different to the cooperation he recieves from the elders. Be it through fanaticism and devotion or a careful weighing of the scales, the scions of the great Houses are casting their lot with the Dark Lord (with a few marked exceptions).
By limiting our character base to purebloods big and small, we've considerably narrowed the sort of IC interaction that is seen in traditional MWPP journal games. So things will work a bit differently here. The main gist is that Inlimis is more of a group of roleplayers with similar things in mind than a classic journalling game where mods are behind much of the plot. It would be impossible to expect anyone to enjoy sticking their Scion of Black in a game where the majority of his friends are not welcome, and so we've decided to attempt a different approach.
In short, Inlimis is a private story-line (psl) game. Instead of running through a specific amount of time (e.g., an academic year in Hogwarts) in a sane and linear manner, characters will interact in whatever timeframe the players want. There is no such thing as back-story here; all the scenes you place your character in will contribute to the tale, from their 10th birthday party to their final hour before an Auror's well-placed spell ends their life. This will allow players to write their characters in scenes that would otherwise be hard to accomplish; personally, I'd love to read about the grief Walburga gives the artist while sitting for her portrait.
