Every story has a source. Horror stories aren't too pretty, and the people that inspired them probably weren't too pretty either. But this is America in the Twentieth Century; everybody is pretty these days. Horror story descendants, most of whom are finding their way to Orlins, Louisiana (a place, not a typo) are no exception.
A collection of macabre tales by one disturbed gentleman by the name of Edgar Allan Poe are a little closer to the truth than most of the fireside stories. Every one of his characters was an actual person, with a peculiar something handed down by bloodline that set them aside from most of the population.
In Orlins, discover mythological dangers and campfire spine-chillers working day jobs. Pick up a book you found in the attic and watch a discussion scrawl itself over its pages. Attend a mad scientist's lecture or be one of his experiments. Stop by the Toy Box and geek out about Spiderman 3 with the Sandman. Lose some money at one of the Red Death's gambling establishments.
